Get LED Headlights Brighter Than OEM Without Sacrificing Quality
When it comes to aftermarket headlights for the Ford F-150 there are many options out there. You can convert to the OEM LED headlights which will set you back over $2000 and will be no brighter than installing LED bulbs into your standard halogen housings or spend a couple hundred dollars less than that for the brightest headlights on the market for your truck.
What does the truck come with stock?
Original headlights and fog lights on the F-150
Our client brought us his brand new Ford F-150 and wanted all of the lights upgraded. Being that this is his first truck he was feeling a bit lost with all of the choices and information that came up on his google searches. We had him bring his truck and sat down with him to go over the options that would address his wants and needs.
The truck is a FX4 which came with halogen headlights, fog lights, tail lights, cargo lights and license plate lights.
(We definitely had our work cut out for this one)
Original tail lights on the F-150
We decided on changing all of the light assemblies instead of upgrading all of the bulbs. Going this route will still drastically increase the light output and also change the look of the truck.
Original cargo lights on the F-150
For the third brake light and cargo lights above the cab, we decided to upgrade the bulbs to LEDs instead. This way we wouldn't be sacrificing light output by replacing it with a LED housing that uses lower quality LEDs. The main goal of these upgrades is to change the look while also increasing brightness.
Let's Start The Upgrades
What parts are we using?
To keep all the light assemblies matching we went with the Morimoto XB LED headlights, fog lights and tail lights. These headlights are the brightest headlights available for the F-150, have the best quality and longest warranty of 5 Years. We've done many of these conversions and others by different brands but Morimoto is still the best.
Our client also wanted to replace the original front grille with a Raptor style grille that has built in LED pods mounted on the sides. We swapped the grille over, wired the amber lights to turn on as a DRL (daytime running light) and wired the LED pods to a switch that we installed on the dash.

As far as LED bulbs goes we used the brightest bulbs from Diode Dynamics to replace the license plate lights, cargo lights and third brake light.

Is that the same truck?
Our client could not believe how different his truck looked just by changing the lights. He was very excited with how the truck came out. The truck not only looks different but also has lights brighter than OEM without sacrificing quality. We only use the best products on the market to give our client's piece of mind when it comes to their lighting. No one wants to get left in the dark due to inferior quality products.
